Updates
We recently launched the new online payment service IPXS. IPXS offers a host of international payment methods that can be linked to different online shopping systems. IPXS offers a safe and modern platform which is linked to external banking and telecoms systems and fulfils an independent role, as an intermediary between consumers, traders and promoters.
Payment per Time Unit
This solution is usually used to provide online access to premium websites, (live) audiovisual content or telephone information services. The access mechanism is directly linked to the chosen payment system.
Payment by mobile phone | |
People who want to pay by phone via high-tariff information line, for instance, can choose between a one-off fixed rate or a rate per second. The rate of an individual telephone number is fixed beforehand, in consultation. Different conditions regarding rates and applications apply to these numbers in different countries. Example 1: access to webpages IPXS offers standard links to secure web pages and other content and to connect them to our payment systems. The possibilities presented by IVR services are vast and can be discussed with our mother company Telefuture, a company which has the relevant specialised expertise. |
Payment via SMS | |
It is possible to offer access to online content via high-tariff SMS text messages. You can choose between different tariff bands. Here too, payment is processed via the phone bill the customer receives from their mobile provider. These paid text messages may only be sent after customers have given their permission. IPXS takes care of the connection between the web application and the sending and receiving of the text messages for as long as the offered service is used. IPXS only accepts services that meet the conditions of the SMS Code of Conduct drawn up by the foundation Stichting SMS-Gedragscode. |
Payment via e-wallet | |
Paying by phone and text message are frequently used as payment methods because they do not require registration (and are therefore anonymous). A disadvantage of these methods is that a share of the margins is kept by the telecom companies. Why not let people pay via their bank account or credit card, as they would in a shop? People can open an e-wallet and top it up by buying “credits”, in the form of minutes for example. Access to premium services can proceed in the same way as in the case of payment by phone, only in this case expenditure is deducted from the credit deposited in the e-wallet. |
